On Thursday the 22nd of September one of our founders Tom took park in Advantage Austria’s NFT Global Academy. Spanning across three continents, and 15 time zones, with over 30 international speakers the purpose of this two-day hybrid event was to showcase the NFT ecosystem to an interested and tech-savvy audience in Austria.
Advantage Austria, which has offices in Vienna, Manilla, and San Francisco, is the “trade promotion organization of the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber”. They are Austria’s premier trade promotion agency, helping Austrian organisations expand abroad, or international organisations expand into Austria. They are also increasingly entering into innovative new areas, such as Web 3.0!
The NFT Global Academy event was held across two days, Wednesday 21st and Thursday 22nd of September, with in-person speakers taking the stage in Vienna on the first day, and a host of online speakers on the second. Tom was a panelist on a deep dive session looking at ‘NFTs for Good’. There were seven deep dive sessions in total looking at NFTs in finance, art, music minting, museums, and fashion. Tom was joined by panelists Edison Tsai, Miroslav Polzer, Julian Wiehl, and Sabine Seymour. With varying backgrounds in finance, development, economics, and social campaigns the range and usage of NFTs covered things from youth tackling climate change, to an NFT marketplace future-proofing Philippine fine art. The sessions were moderated and kept small to enable maximum audience participation in the panel discussions with live Q & A sessions included after the introductions. Tom was able to provide a brief background on Fauna NFT, and how we came about and was able to share our upcoming project, partners, and business model. The session passed quickly with some great questions from the audience and was wrapped up with some closing remarks from our moderator Christina.
